Mannino's Grand Slam USA opened business on November 1st, 2009. Brian formerly owned and operated MAX Sports Center. MAX Sports Center consisted of a Sports Medicine and Family Practice Medical Facility, a Sports Training Facility, and a Baseball and Softball Training Facility. MAX Sports Center- Baseball & Softball, joined forces with Westerville's Grand Slam and Kathy Fishbaugh to form the new Mannino's Grand Slam USA. Grand Slam has been doing business in Central Ohio for more than 25 years.
"Having the opportunity to form a business with a great tradition and a business with great reputation only allows Mannino's Grand Slam USA to be Central Ohio's premier training facility for both baseball and softball." Mannino says, "We both look forward to the opportunity to be part of a community and the growth and development of baseball and softball players within that community."
Brian has played baseball as a professional, collegiate, and amateur player.
Brian has been coaching both college and professional athletes since graduating from The Ohio State University. He began coaching at Ohio State and spent five years as an assistant under head coach Bob Todd. Brian became a hitting coach and director of player development for the Chillicothe Paints in 1999. Brian was named the head coach of the Columbus All Americans, a team in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League, in 2000. He spent eight years as a head coach and placed more than 30 players into Major League Baseball, including a first round pick. Mannino is now the head coach of the Chillicothe Paints, a college summer team in the Prospect League.
Brian has been involved in coaching at all levels since his graduation. He has been doing private training, team instruction, coaches clinics, and running leagues for the past 13 years in Central Ohio. Mannino has developed many contacts with professional scouts and college coaches throughout the country.
Mannino currently resides in Powell with his wife Cherie. Brian's hometown is Cincinnati where he attended Cincinnati McNicholas High School. Outside of coaching, he enjoys his golfing, hunting, and fishing
